As Covenant House approaches its 25th anniversary on Wednesday, organizers held
a pre-event celebration on Thursday to honor those who helped establish and
have supported the organization. Here, co-director Barbara Ferraro (center)
thanks Judy Snyder and John Scriptunas for their help. Kanawha Hospice and West
Virginia Health Right both started at Covenant House, as did the state’s first
residential program for people living with AIDS. Covenant House also helped
start the Sojourners shelter for women and children.
