Clothing Closet
![]() |
Clothing is the most frequent request made by those who visit Covenant House. In response, our appeals to the community bring in thousands of used, high-quality clothing items each year which are, in turn, available at the Covenant House Clothing Closet (housed at St. Marks United Methodist Church) each weekday morning. Most items are sold for very low prices in a thrift shop environment. People with low or no income can qualify for referrals for free clothing, which are made by Drop In Center staff. In most cases, referrals allow patrons to select two complete outfits, including shoes and coat, for each member of their family unit. Those in need of free clothes may visit the Drop In Center for the required referral and then proceed to the Clothing Closet which is staffed by a manager and a team of volunteers. Our biannual Clothing Closet fundraiser/awareness-raiser -- the Fashion & Variety Show -- is a sure to please public event. Donations of socks and underwear (in addition to cost of admission) are gleefully received. |
